I have been keeping my piggies indoors and planned to keep them there, but because I was involved in an emergency rescue of rabbits (long story :)) I now have to move the piggies outside until August. I'm not happy about this but it's only for one summer and it will be better for them for now.

Can I move them outside straight away? Or do I have to do it gradually? They have a weatherproof hutch.

We moved ours out into their summer shed a few weeks ago. They had been spending days in the garden however when we put them out overnight that was them out full time. They have a giant shed to play in and on sunny days they play out in the run for a few hours a day.

I'd move them out gradually. Like put them out for the warmest part of the day, and then inside at night, and after a couple of weeks they could stay out all night. Or if you have a shed, to put them in there at night. I think guinea pigs are fine outdoors, but just they need to get used to it first.
