Very sad news, my piggy Tallulah has died. She was only three, but i also had her mum and she did exactly the same. Lu just got thinner and thinner. She was eating normally and noone could find anything wrong. It was as if she aged three years in a week. I'm so upset she's gone but very happy she didn't suffer. The thing is now i have five guineas who all need separate hutches. Two girlies who won't tolerate company, one who would love some and used to live with tallulah and two boys. It seems mad to be doing so much cleaning out when theoretically i could cut it down to two hutches! I don't think there's any option though!

I'm sorry about Tallulah... Five hutches is a lot to clean, I agree. Also, guinea pigs are so much more fun when you can see them interact with each other! Couldn't maybe the boys go together? Sometimes if boys are agressive towards other boys they can calm down after that hormonal age. Or they could be neutered and put each with a girl. Maybe one of your lone girls would accept company if it was male? I know cases where strong neutered males have been able to make peace between bickering females. Maybe it's worth considering?

sorry to hear about Tallulah.could you not put the boys and the girl pig together since they have already lived together least that only leaves you with 3 hutches to clean

Well at present I'm wary about getting the boys into the vets to be neutered, as they're not young. If I did then I think the girls would probably get on fine in with a boy, but it's too big a risk. I've tried the girls together lots but Jemima and Red just will not tolerate company. So, five hutches and five guineas it will be I think!

I wish there was some form of contraception for piggies. An implant or injection would be amazing!

I'm sorry to hear about Tuallulah hope your holding up ok!

Thanks, I'm ok, but it's not the same without her, she was very laid back and very docile, my other piggies are more flighty!

I am very sorry that you have lost Tallulah, as she seems to have been your piggy that got on well with everybody!
