Today I moved my guinea pig cage into a different room, they were in the mailroom of our basement but now they are in a room people are not in very often. Is it okay that they went from room to room in one day? Also I heard that they like rooms that people are in a few times a day just for company and stuff, does that affect them if they dont get as much socialization from things like that? Is there anything I should know

Yes it’s fine that they moved room.

From a socialisation point of view, the piggies don’t need you, they only need each other. So being in a room no one goes in routinely is not an issue.
You will just need to make an effort to go and spend time with them from a care point of view.

Thank you!

I’m sure they will be absolutely fine and will love their new room. My piggies live in our spare bedroom so don’t get much company from us although I do go and see them several times a day but as they have each other, they’re perfectly happy

My piggies live in my garage (sorry their garage). Thea is a bit of a diva and lives on her own as,(after her friend Lexi toddled off to the Rainbow Bridge) she made it very clear she didn't want to live with Misty and Bramble (who I adopted to bond with her). Misty and Bramble live next to her in the cage (Thea lives in the hutch - her hutch) so she gets piggy company that way. I go in several times a day to check on them and make sure they are OK. Piggies need piggy interaction more than they need human interaction. I'm sure your piggies will like their new accommodation.

Honestly, I've wondered many times if my pigs would really mind if we disappeared so long as the food kept coming
This is a frequent topic of conversation between the humans in our house. I've just got back from 5 days away and other than demanding food the minute I walked in the door I don't think they noticed I'd gone!
