We are about to experience very cold weather here. I know the temps for the UK are normal but for where I live it is quite rare. (And my piggys are used to warm weather!) For about a week we are going to go below zero at nights.

My pigs live on a balcony that is closed by windows, so it is inside but has no warmth from the house, so it cools down a lot at night... of course not as cold as outside. They have large C&C (6 x 3) for each group.

I have two cages and have been given two small cages. Not ideal, but it's what I can get, and I have moved them inside the house starting tonight.

They really hate being picked up and run terrified from me... stress for them... and of course, I am with flu too, makes it hard to run around...

Finally, the question!

Is it best for them to be moved out to their C&C each morning and then back to smaller cages each night?
Is it less stressful to live inside in the cages for a week until temp goes back to normal?

I would have them inside the cages for a week. That gives them time to settle in their new surroundings and will be a lot less stressful and confusing. Piggies can put up with a bit less space if it is for a short time and in an emergency. I am sure that they will give you a proper popcorn display when they go back to the balcony!
