One of my guinea pigs is 5 and a half, and very recently (started last night) started mounting my other guinea pig. She’s never done this before, usually my other guinea pig is the ‘top pig’ and will sometimes mount and rumble at her. But now it seems to be the other way round. She lost a bit of weight last week, and my other guinea pig was recovering from a uri, so i thought she may have the same thing, so we’re keeping an eye on her and if she shows any other symptoms we’re taking her to the vet. She seems normal besides the slight weight loss and mounting, so i’m not sure what’s wrong or even if there’s anything wrong at all.

Maybe she’s having a strong season, or she might be making a bid for top piggie if your other piggies has been poorly

If there is any concern then see a vet.
There is more than one reason for this kind of behaviour.

Thanks for the replies. We took her to the vet and he prescribed her 0.35ml of baytril for a week because he suspected a respiratory infection, just like Pepper had. Hopefully this all clears up soon.
