They should be bonded properly and once they have been through the initial introduction (neutral territory done on one day) and they were successful. then they should be moved together to the new cage to live together permanently from then on and not separated again
Unfortunately they fell out and can't be trusted together. Cage divided so they have some company but we're not ready to expand from 4 to 6 pigs and our local rescue isn't rehoming during lockdown anyway. Wilbur came from a rescue which doesn't host bonding and I am not convinced by that approach, though we have been lucky in the past. To begin with they were OK but then Wilbur became more confident. He's too lovely to return to the rescue.
Putting them together when they have fallen out (even to share a treat) is an unnecessary risk, and just puts them both under stress.
Please keep them separate.
