Having just looked through all the cages in the homemade housing thread, I've noticed that most people have very minimalistic cages, to give more running space presumably. My girls live in a 4x2 with a fair few toys (2 pigloos, a tunnel, a stool and some other random bits and pieces) and I was wondering whether it would be better to have less stuff in there for them?

What are your opinions?

It is lovely your little ones have plenty of things to do. I am not sure how crowded it is. You could try moving some things out and see if your piggies run around in the empty space. You will be able to tell which they prefer if they popcorn. :)

I'll try it out today when I clean them out :) I just don't want Pickles to get bored because she needs ALOT of stimulation otherwise she wreaks havoc!

I've had this dilemma before, they LOVE their tunnels (they have two cardboard chubes and a fleece tunnel), they are forever going through them, and the fleece tunnel is almost always occupied, but I often think shall I lose a tunnel to give them more run around space. I still haven't decided if I should take out one of the chube's out.

Mine have quite a lot of things in their cage but they seem to like it, they have a plastic ball which I'm probably going to take out as Louie likes to push it around during floor time but it gets ignored the rest of the time!

I ended up taking an igloo out of their cage, much to Pickles' disgust. She then had a massive tantrum tossing all their toys, turning her remaining igloo upside down, climbing the walls (abnormal I know!) and screaming at the top of her voice! Needless to say, she had a long nap after that :))

I think you've got your answer then, clearly she knows how to make her preferences known! :(|) :(|) :(|)
