Hi everyone! I've just has to take Ginger to the vets. I got this morning and her one eye was crusted. The vet said she has quite a large ulcer on it and has given antibiotic eye drops which are for rabbits. Has anyone heard of the - Tiacil. She reckons if the antibiotics don't work she would need surgery with a possibliity of losing the eye. If it came to that I think I would put her down because she's old and I don't think it would be fair especially as her legs don't work properly anyway :'(

am so so sorry to hear about ginger :'( :'( :'( really hoping the antibiotics work-have to probiotics to protect her tummy from being upset by the antibiotic? sending hugs, cuddles and prayers to you and ginger :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: girls send :-* :-* :-* good luck and come on ginger girl :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Sending love and healing vibes to Ginger, I hope the drops work :smitten:

Good luck, I've no knowledge of ye problems but hope the drops work and little ginger will be ok, how old is she?

She's 8. Her eye looked sore and crusty, vertually closed this morning but her eye looks open this evening. I hope that's a good sign!

Update on Ginger - eye is no longer crusty and is virtually open all the time. Now I can see a blueness ro her eye. Does anyone have any ideas? Could it be a catarat that caused the ulcer?
