As most of you may know, I have 2 boars and have recently taken in 2 sows, they live above my boars. Up to now , things have been very good, but George and Alfie have done nothing but fight and mount each other for the past 2 days.

There been alot of teeth chattering and flying at each other. I gave them both a bath together this afternoon, but it has made no difference. I've been giving the lots of different veg to distract them, tried giving them "time out" from each other, and even tried dividing their cage, but Alfie jumped over and I'm back to square one. mallethead

If anyone has anymore ideas for me to try I would really appericiate it, I don't know what else to do, I'm really pulling my hair out now8...

My suggestion would be to move the sows away from the boars (Or vice versa), the boars will smell the sows living above and this will cause them to fight.

The living situation has been the same for the past month, and no problems. I don't know whats set things off now:(

I know they can be funny little things, how old are they?Maybe they have reached that dreaded age where their hormones kick in?I would give it a go though, you may be surprised.

As before, things have settled right down again, George and Alfie are now the best of friends!rolleyes. The girls seemed alittle more stroppy yesterday, and I was wondering, Do you think perhaps the girls were in season?

I have never had sows before, so I wouldn't know, but its the only logical explanation I can come up with. It seems to happen roughly every 2-3 weeks.

As I said, all is very calm now, and all 4 piggies are very happy and content. Any ideas would be most welcome x:)
