I noticed some matting on my little pig's fur this afternoon and after a bath and a little haircut I uncovered 3 brown patches on his skin that resemble moles. My piggie is a rescue (we found him abandoned in a parking lot) and he is generally quite skittish, but he really doesn't seem to want me touching the area, which makes me think it is causing him discomfort. It's not anything I've ever seen before, is it familiar to anyone here?

Given the location, to me it looks like the grease gland could be inflamed, especially if it was found under a matted, greasy area. Some pigs have active grease glands and the gland underneath can get irritated. Sundae used to get an irritated grease gland at times, but it would clear up provided I cleaned up the grease and kept the area clean. Hopefully someone else has some ideas for you!
