So hi guys yet again on the subject of Mo's bowels. Before I share my worries I just want to point out that Mo is eating well, par his hay which he is still eating but not as vigorously and his teeth are pristine. His hair bounces back,he's alert and chews bars for food. No hunched posture though he was fuzzy a few days ago because he'd got cold during the night- heating wasn't left on. Basically, he isn't pooing as much and he's been doing some small ones. I've noticed it today and yesterday as I've been ill myself so at home. Some are like the ones I shared in a previous thread- healthy. And these ones look a healthy shape and colour just smaller and less. I've checked his sack cos I thought he might be impacted though he's young 1 year and two months on the 5th of March. His sack his clear though I did find a rod- at least I think it was I've seen one on him before- which I removed. He doesn't seem in pain when toileting or anything and is drinking. I'd ideally like you guys to tell me not to worry just yet but....

Please switch to weighing daily at the same time on the feeding cycle so you can monitor the actual food intake and start offering additional syringe feed/see a vet as soon as necessary. Smaller and thinner poos point to a somewhat dimished poo intake 1-2 days previous.
Complete Syringe Feeding Guide

Cheap kitchen scales from the supermarket are perfectly ok for that job, but they are a vital part in health monitoring, especially with slightly dodgy piggy.

Hopefully the removal of the sperm rod has done the trick.

Thank you I'll purchase some scales right away! I've put his hay on the floor of his cage now as he usually has it in a rack- he hated it on floor or in bowl. When I left he was munching on it and I'll check to see how he is on way back. @Wiebke I shouldn't start to worry about loosing him though should I? As in has this happened to you? He has sometimes done smaller poos or been different a day then got back to normal.

It is not a worry if his overall weight is stable. if it is part of a continuing slow downwards pattern, then at some point a vet trip is recommended.
You can find a lot of information around weighing and good weights in this guide here: The Importance Of Weighing - Ideal Weight / Overweight / Underweight

Phew thank you @Wiebke I lost a guinea pig way to soon last time and I fear of history repeating itself. And after my friend saw hers pass in quick succession I worry about the littlest things. I said countless times I'll buy scales but I held off after my last vet visit told me Mo was a healthy weight (he's a big boy as you know) and if anything could loose a little. He doesn't look any smaller but I'm defo buying some as I know looks can be deceiving. Just came back and hay is scattered and hes been at rack. Hopefully things will look up I'll buy scales and weight him if after four or five days he's weight is just continually dropping (obviously before if it's dramatic) I'll take him straight to the vets. X

So the smorning his cage looks a lot more like it would normally he's pooed quite a bit. Still a little less but much nicer amount. The poos seem to be bigger in size now also bit still a pointed shape athe the end. Should I be giving him some of his healthy poos to eat? And is this a good sign dies thus mean he'll hopefully be better? :)
