Mites?

Hi,
I have two guinea pigs both around seven months. I came across a bald spot on one of them (Mochi) and did some research. I realized mites can be a cause of hair loss. My guinea pigs have bedding in their cage which I heard was a cause of mites as well even though their bedding is replaced regularly. My other guinea pig Teddy doesn’t have any bald spot since I checked but he does this weird thing where he always bites my clothes even if I feed him. Has anyone experienced mites here and how to treat them?

Where is the hair loss? Can you post a photo please of them?

We can’t really tell you, only a hands on vet exam can tell you what it may be. Treatment is only something the vet can give you - we don’t support home treatment here as it can mask the issue and leave it untreated, or even make it worse if that’s not what it is. Shop bought meds aren’t as strong as vet prescribed ones as well. What bedding are you using?

As for the other piggy biting your T-shirt, it may be they want to go back to their cage for toileting or just want to go home.
