Hi everyone,
I rescued 2 very sweet ex breeding teddy sows on Sunday. I noticed when I checked them over that their ears were not in a great state one worse than the other. I cleaned out a lot of wax inside the ear and lots of dry crusts around the ear and on the outside of ear. I noticed what looked like the ear had been nibbled around the edge and had yellow crusts, also pinky patch on Mabelā€™s back. I pretty much guessed that they had mites which was confirmed today by the vet. I obviously kept them separate from my other 3 while in their quarantine and now obviously will delay the bonding. They are currently on fleece what would be the best course of action regarding changing bedding and disinfecting the C&C. They will start their course of xeno today. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks from myself, Greta and Mabel.

If they have their first treatment today, then give it a few days and do a full clean and disinfection of the cage and items within the cage. Then return to a normal cleaning routine between then and the next treatment. After the second treatment give it another few days and then do another clean and disinfect, return to a normal routine until the third treatment. Again, a few days after the third treatment do the final clean and disinfect.

Hopefully they will then be clear and you can bond them with your other piggies

What gorgeous girlies! Pleased they have a caring home with you now and will never be bred from again.

I've just finished treating my old gal Thea (6 years and nearly 9 months) for mites. That Xeno is good stuff. Put a reminder on your phone or on the calendar for the 2nd and 3rd treatment just so you remember when to do it.
