Does anyone know what kind of big this might be? Is it a mite?

Hi

Both guinea pig specific mites are so small they are basically invisible to the naked eye. Lice are visible but little pale crawling things.

This is not a guinea pig specific parasite and may just be a small insect of some sort unless you have other species pets.

That sort of looks to me a bit like a very small dead ant or possibly some kind of very small wasp or fly (I’m assuming it’s dead in the pictures as the legs are curled under). Can’t tell from the picture though. With some Googling, I can’t find any parasite of a cat, dog, bird or reptile in this country that looks like that and is that big. The only thing it could be is a tick but it looks the wrong shape.
