Minimum C&c Size For 3 Sows And A Boar

Just putting out the feelers at the moment, but my husband has said that I can add to my current herd as long as they are all in the same cage. Pixel and Widget (sows) and Thor (neutered boar) all live together in a 5x2 c&c indoors; would adding another sow mean that the cage would need to be expanded first?

yes, it would ideally need to be a 6x2 c&c cage minimum although bigger would be better

Yeah 2x6 would be best because you have a boar in with them, if it was three sows you'd get away with a 2x5, we have three girls in a 2x5, all boars are in 2x5's as well, even our solo boar The more room you can give the better though

I read the amount of guinea pigs you were putting into the cage incorrectly, typical for me with my bad concentration lol. 2x6 or more is still good though I would only recommend a 2x5 for two boars or three sows.

Thanks everyone. There are a few other deciding factors as well, the largest being whether Pixel in particular would accept another lady in her life!
