Hi everyone! My skinny pig had a little bit of milky discharge from one of her eyes and has slight wheezy breathing. I looked at how her body is moving, and that was normal. It didn't look like she was struggling to breathe. She is eating and drinking still, but I think I should take her to the vet about the wheeziness. I can only take her to the vet this upcoming Friday. Is there anything I can do in the meanwhile to make sure she is comfortable besides continuously checking in on her?

Hi

Milky discharge from the eye is cleaning fluid that has not been fully absorbed by the tear duct and is nothing to worry about.
This useful guide explains about the different fluids and gunk in the eyes: Guinea pig body quirks - What is normal and what not?

Is the wheeziness in the nose or deeper down in the chest? You can always check that by holding your ear against the nose, then the throat and lastly the chest.
If it is just temporary and gone in a few hours or after a big sneeze, then it is likely just a little dust gone up the nose while diving into the hay. Any little obstruction there can sound pretty alarming.
Book an appointment if the wheezing is not gone on its own by tomorrow or if there are more respiratory symptoms.

The slight wheeziness was definitely in the nose. While she eats the sound is completely gone, it's only when she is not eating you hear a little wheeze.

See whether a bowl of steaming water next to the cage can help ease the wheezing.

It is not alarming right now and only needs veterinary attention if it is permanent/frequently recurring and also if spillages of eye fluid happen frequently or other symptoms come into play. Please contact us before you see the vet in this case, so you can ask them the correct questions.
