What do you guys think about them and have any of you ever owned them?

The reason I'm asking is, I need more grids and the prices they are charging are really over the top, so I was considering buying a table (if I can get one big enough) to put a 2x5 on and then buying two of the habitats and putting them underneath the table, but before I decide if that's what I want to do I would like people's input on them, if people don't like them then I'll have to come up with another idea.

Basically, I have 9 guinea's atm, maybe 10 at the weekend, I have 3 cages in my room, a two tier and a single but I was thinking that if Cesaro gets on with all three sows when we have him neutered that the bottom tier and single cage could be made into one cage for them so they was have an L shape cage which would work out at 2 x 10 (I think I've got that right) and then I wanted to build a two tiered caged for the living room for the young boars to go in as we can't really have them near the sows with them being hormonal. The older boys would have the top tier of the cage that will hopefully have Cesaro and the three girls in.

I hope I've made sense lol. I'm not the best at explaining.

Hi!
I have a Midwest Guinea Habitat. I have bought it for my two baby boys. We've only had them a week so I can tell you what I think so far.

It's very easy to assemble and has a waterproof, washable base. Once the base is velcroed in, it gives stability to the cage which is a bit wobbly on its own. It measures 60cm by about 118cm. I have put mine on an MDF base with castors on the bottom. I have made fitted liners for it and so far it is working really well. There are also two doors in the cage so you can easily extend the cage by adding another one or a pen.

I bought it as my babies are going to stay with my Mum when we go away and I wanted something easily portable. It all folds up very easily to pop in the car. I am not sure it will be big enough for my boys when they are full grown and am thinking of either building an extension or building a C&C cage and keeping this one as a holiday cage. Here is a photo! I am happy to answer any specific questions if you have them.image.webp

Thank you! That looks brilliant! I was looking at them because I saw them on Wayfair 2 for just under £50, I don't fancy forking out loads of money on grids, people are charging far too much now, I got my first two boxes for £25 each :/

Do you think 2 put together would be ok for two boars or would it still be a bit too small? They are in 2x5 C&C's but I need another cage.

Oh, you can get them cheaper than that! Try this place,

Or this one, actually I think it's the same company but, if you look around, I found a 10% off coupon for this one,

Have you looked at grendle enterprises for grids? ( There should be the word 'g r e n d l e ' before enterprises but it won't stay in my post? How bizarre) I just received a box of 28 grids and 30 connectors plus cable ties for £42.50 delivered. They do lots of different sets.

I would imagine two together would be a wonderful cage for two boars! It would be almost 120cm by 120cm. It would give them space to be apart if they wanted and you could easily have one in each half if they ever fell out.

I think that company is a bit OTT on their prices to be honest :/ I ordered a 2x6 from them once and though "ouch" lol. I love discounts...

Oh no the site I was looking at was 2 for just under £50 so would make them around £25 each :) ooo good point I think I got 10% off with Wayfair as well.

I may consider that then if they grids work out too much, I need about 31 grids. It's a shame people are taking the pee with the prices now.

I've just had a look at the Wayfair site. I think they've made a mistake. It says 'set of 2' £49.98 and they are selling the same thing on its own at £52.77. If you can get them to honour it, you will have a bargain! Let me know how you get on.

That sounds a good idea. I just don't want to you buy it and find it's not what you thought x

Still waiting for an email from them, but I think it does mean two full cages, I'm not going to buy though because after reading something @Sunnycharlie said I went to check the site we can't type the name of (lol) because I thought 28 grids? it's 26 isn't it? but then I saw the dog pen and saw it was 28 grids and I was like WOOHOOOOO because that means I would only need to buy an additional 3 grids so it would cost me about £51.50 in total :D I'll probably buy 4 connectors as well if I need them.

I do need some Seville connectors though :/ the Safco ones are too tight to use on the Seville grids, so if anyone knows where to get there Seville connectors from, please let me know!

thanks

Does anyone know why we can't type the name G r e n d l e ? Seems very strange..

I bought the pet den because you get 2 extra grids for free! I even emailed them to check it was the same. They were super fast at dispatching too.

Yeah well spotted!

No idea why you can't type that, it might be something that's built into the forum database/program, who knows!

So I got a reply from Wayfair

"Dear Kerrie,

I can confirm for you that the Midwest Small Pets Habitat with Canvas Bottom is sold in a minimum quantity of 2. So for £49.98 you get two full habitats.

Should you be interested in some similar items, please have a look here for a selection of small animal supplies. Once you are ready to place your order, you can do so online at any time - 24 hours a day!

Thank you for choosing Wayfair!,"

Wow! That is such good value! I wish I had noticed that the price was for two habitats before I bought mine.... Too late now.

Did you find a 10% off coupon?

No, I'll sign up with a different email LOL but I might just get those grids since you pointed out there are 28 in one of the packages they sell :D
