So, I have to Midwest guinea pig cages added together. After 2 months of having it the bottom green layer has been smelling quite bad. I have been adding a vinegar and water mix when I do a full cage clean but it doesn't get rid of the smell completely. I was just wondering if machine washing the bottom layer would be alright?

As said before, having something on the bottom is recommended. Maybe try fleece or bedding over some puppy pads/absorbent layers...I guarantee the bottom shouldn’t stink afterwards and will last ALOT longer.

I do have bedding, I have washable puppy pads and on top of that some fleece. Thanks everyone!
