Midwest guinea habitat plus : worth it or not?

also, does anyone know if it is sturdy enough for piggies that bite bars? for some reason their chews toy get ignored, and my piggies are obsessed with biting cage bars instead:lol!::hmm:

As far as store bought cages go, the Midwest is the only one that's really acceptable for two guinea pigs. Most others are way too small to properly house piggies. However for three boars you really need more space. You should either buy two Midwest cages and connect them (the Amazon page has an illustration on how you can do that) or better yet invest in a C&C (cube and coroplast) cage. A quick web search should turn up a few sites that sell ready to assemble C&C's.

I have the Midwest cage and LOVE it! quite sturdy. My pig does chew the bars, but it is sturdy enough. Her chewing does not hurt the cage.

same my guinea pigs are obsessed with chewing the cage bars and i have 3 boars too

The lid is only necessary if you have other pets (carnivores, i.e. cats or dogs) or small children who might be tempted to "play" with the piggies unsupervised and cause harm. The piggies aren't going to jump out an unlidded cage.

(This is based on my experience with the All Living Things knockoff, which has the same dimensions.)

I used two Midwests for two boars. As others have said, one is nowhere near big enough for three pigs. As for the lid, if you don't have other pets (like cats or dogs) or little children with grabby hands, just buy the cage without the lid. It won't come with a cover for the ramp you'll have when attaching two cages together, but you can actually buy the ramp cover directly from them.

there are little children in my home, but I'm a bit worried the lid might fall on the piggies. has anyone had a problem with the lid falling off ?

It's highly unlikely it'll fall off with normal use.

ok. i just realized i dont have space for 2 midwest cages as of now.
:no::doh:
would one be good if i also gave them playtime?:hmm::hmm:
