Hi,

I have recently moved our pigs to a new location (as pictured) They are inside in an empty room on concrete floor. Theyre hutch is pretty big and the run is a nice open space for them, which is constantly accessible.

The floor is layered with newspaper and the hutch with sawdust. My problem is that they seem to making more mess than ever and it is proving a nightmare to clean as i'm having to do it every 2-3 days.

Any tips on keeping them pooping and urinating in the same place? and to generally keep it tidier and easier to clean?

That looks like a brilliant space for them :)

I find that a big hay box is great to give piggies the fun of foraging, also they tend to do their poos where they eat, so most poos and pee would be in the hay box Although whether it would save you time or not I dont know, as hay boxes would need to be changed daily.

However cleaning out every 2-3 days is what lots of people do as they are poo machines and it doesnt take long for them to poo out hundreds of poos amongst 3 piggies :))

I wash all my piggy bedding every other day and some everyday, often feels like a full time job keeping on the top of it, but it is better for their health to be done little and often.

I change mine every 3 days too, I think it's just all part of being a piggy slave :))
