Good morning...this is my first post as a new member. have just got our first guinea pigs...3 eight week old females. I am making a run to attach to theire cage and was wondering what is the smallest size mesh that I can use without them getting out or stuck in. I have some that has 50mm x 50mm squares but is this too big. I know they get bigger but at the moment they are just small. I have enough of this mesh to double up to make small squares up to a height of 150mm as they wont climb up the mesh will they. Thank you. :^-

Just to say make sure that the mesh holes are big enough to attach a water bottle.. :) And no they will not climb up the mesh as piggies are not climbers! hope this helped!

Hi...thanks for telling me they are not climbers. Still wondering about the mesh size though. Is 50mm (2 inch) squares too big. On your profile photo your piggies mesh looks quite small...mine is about the size of 4 of your squares together.

Yeah the mesh on my run does have quite small squares and I sometimes struggle to attach a water bottle onto it. I think that, because your piggies are still babies, that you would need to have fairly small squares so that they can't fit through or get their heads stuck. I think 2 inches might just be too big..
