CharlottiesPiggies

I was giving my golden girly a big cuddle this morning and I felt like a dry scabby patch just above her bum? I brushed all the scurf and scabby bits, but its starting to get a little bare :'( Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Mites :)

My piggies get it sometimes :-\ If you leave it too long then they will continue to scratch it and it will bleed ~ Ivermectin does the job easily ;)

Yep sounds like mites to me, I always take to the vets for mites. :)

yep mites :) see a vet and they'll be able to treat it. ;) also GG stuff may help calm and soothe it aswell, but the vets treatment is what will really work ;) :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: let us know how you get on :smitten:

But where would she have got them from :( Out of all my 6 her Rosie and Harley havent been Ivermectin'ed, so i should really take them too.

Hay most probably or through stress O0
Ive had piggies live with others and theyve never passed it on to them either but they will probably get it sometime in their lives and prevention is way better than cure so i would ivermec them too O0 Good Luck :)

Can I Ivermectin them myself? I am sure you can buy it online? or does the vet have to administer it? ?

I do it myself but people say thats not such a good idea but it works - the oral one though O0

i would go to a vet, not do it at home. getting the dose wrong would be my main worry
