Hello
Was wondering if anyone could offer some advice
It became apparent My 4 yo boar was unwell
I noticed he was not himself, lethargic, not moving around as much as he usually does, just seems so lacklustre for him
He struggled to reach up to his water bottle, and could not put his front legs up onto his bowl for veggies.
I was straight to the vets as I know immediately if there’s something not right
He was checked over and vet found a tiny piece of grass in his Willy and it was bruised
Anyway, he prescribed metacam and that seems to help, but I’m still concerned as he’s just ‘not right’
When I picked him up and put him back in the cage, he immediately laid on his tummy. He’s usually vibrating strutting around but he looks so sad and hunched up.
He’s eating fine, drinking fine pooing fine etc.
One thing concerns me is he weighs just 715g and his hips are so boney and i can feel his ribs
Btw, we had picked him and his buddy up from my sil, who looked after them for a few days whilst we were away and that’s when I noticed he wasn’t right
I have been advised to try him on critical care…
Thanking you in advance
