Just wondering how you and your man/partner deal with the housework issue? It is the only thing that really annoys me in my relationship and I am just wondering if anyone else has the same issues?

Andy refused to help me so he pays for a cleaner :)
I do the day to day / washing and he takes care of putting the bins out (once a week).
We negotiate the dishwasher but its taken us 4 years to get to this point ;D

I'm lucky my hubby will do most things except washing and ironing, he hoovers and is known for his hoovering skills in that he kills nearly every hoover i have, its a standing joke MIcks hoovering get the cheque book out for a new one lol,
he cooks which I loath doing , I wont touch meat so he deals with that, he does the garden and most of the decorating although I dont mind painting, he has replaced every door and window and guttering and soffits and built a conservatory and log cabin as well as my sheds so he is quite a good diy and house work hubby ,

Steve does the cooking and I do the washing up and then we both ignore the rest of the housework ;D

When we eventually do get round to cleaning. I do all the surfaces and Steve hoovers and washes the floors. I do all the washing as well cos I don't want all my whites turning pink ;D

OH Cleans the bathrooms. I do most of the washing up. He is banned from doing the clothes washing because i have an order, he can never do things 'right'. That means my way! ;D
I'm usually left to put the bins out as he quite often forgets. Brian like a sive that man. I always clean the animals and feed them. I cant be bothered to iron, so if he wants something ironed he does it himself. We share cooking. Both hoover. He polishes stuff, i detol everything! I'm quite lucky really.
A friend or ours does NOTHING to help out his wife. She has a condition that makes her quite tired and was told to rest by the doctors. She couldn't as he wont do anything. She had their child to look after to. Even though i told him that he should help out, and most other people have to. I think he thought we were joking. :-\

You are both lucky

I live with the worlds laziest man. Truly.
He would lie on the sofa to do his job if he could
He would attach a bucket to it to wee in if I let him

Do the words men and housework even go in the same sentence? lol

LOL

Men in this house don't seem too bad!

I can't reach the cooker and not safe for me to use a kettle either! ;) Mum does a lot of the cleaning but the others always help out! :)

I supervise!

Men & house work - don't make me laugh! The only time my 'man' has anything to do with the housework is when he's complaining about it! If he does do anything it either him in a complete strop & he's throwing things out for no reason - like beautiful pics my daughter has drawn & tops he knows I don't want because he's never seem me wear them 666). Or when he's really messed up & is trying to get in my good books.

Why oh why is he still here - I need my head testing!

As I'm a stay at home animal mom, I tend to take of the "house keeping" in my own fashion ;)

Hubby does do the dishes, change the cat litter, runs the hoover around as and when, but as he is out earning the dosh, I don't think it fair for him to be expected to do the housework too :)
When I was nursing, he shared the tasks and if I ever go back to work, I'd expect him to do so again.

yup I agree, dads the same but mums told you that ;D

we could always send dad and your guy off somewhere for a year and see how they cope minus us

I'm a stay at home mum as well but have arthritis so MIcks hoovering helps as my wrists get inflamed if I use the hoover the pushing and pulling hurts he enjoys the gardening and is very good at DIY,

I dont think any guy would. Not even the most competent. They still need us.

I live alone so I do it all ;D

Probably not very well ;D

My father seems to have a little obsession with vacuuming though.

and I do the washing up
Apart from when you didn't want to and Steve suggested I might like to do it :o  Still, it's nice I have passed 'guest' status ;D onto 'part of the furniture' status ;)

Mine will do anything apart from washing up :D

Mmmmm DONT start me here

As you know i'm not so mobile at the mo, so we've been home for a week from hols, has any house work been done?
Oh yes the vacuuming (hoovering) and that's IT!!
I get asked "is there anything you need doing?" Oh for goodness sake just look around grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr >:(
But i must say he's been making the bed, doing the dishwasher, bringing clothes in (that i managed to peg out whilst
hopping around like a twit), and Dee's trying to help with meals etc..
Do i sound like a whinge but what about the showers and toilets for a start, UGH, so you know what's happening tomorrow
YEP i'm either gonna hit the wall or i'm just going to do it myself and stuff the leg i don't care i can't live like this arghhhhh :o
Oh yeah i was bought up a stool so i could sit to do the ironing, oh thankyou sooo much i really appreciate it LOL

Now that's off my chest i feel much better.

Mine does the thing where, if he does something, he feels the need to tell me. As if looking for praise. ::) I do the washing up about 3 times a day, pop the washing on. Hoover etc and dont feel the need to tell him. Men!

The one that gets me is the " I've done the washing up for you" wtf does he not use plates, cups, cutlery?!
Maybe I'm just an ungreatful old cow!

No way, it's their defence mechanism kicking in ::)

That gets me too - glad its not just my OH.

Andy is sweet though sometimes - if ive had a bad day at work he will do loads of housework (fairly badly) and then tell me all about it when i get in and look at me like a dog that wants patting

I must admit Steve my OH had a house before me - so when we moved in together in our new house he's been great. He does all the washing - ironing, if he needs something urgently, hoovers around if we tidy up together and if he gets in from work and the sinks full he usually washes up, especially if i'm late coming home from work. Some days he has his lazy days, but most of the time he's pretty good... I'm sure if we ever get married this will probably change! :) hehe

Don't think my hubby knows what a hoover is yet alone where it is kept Lol ::) although just had a thought he does hoover his Jeep

but I shouldn't complain as he does leave for work at 06.30 and doesn't get back until 20.00,

But then again I also work from home everyday and I still have to do it. Washing for 7, cooking, cleaning etc

The only thing that does annoy me is when I go shopping once a month for my bulk shop I am gone all day I call it my day off if only it was. if I come home to a mess I go MAD. I can keep on top of things even when I am working he only has to do it once a month

Karen

my dad has no clue about housework >:(,he'll sit there and say what a mess it looks but while hes sitting there hes stuck into his tv with controls in both hands,we've had 6 doors sitting here for over a year waiting to be put on,i swear if i smack my toe on them again theyre all going outside and staying there >:(
