Does anybody use megazorb for their guineas? I use dust free shavings for my three although I know that isn't best for them so I tried to change to newspaper and fleece, they ate the newspaper and tried to eat the fleece and it was very messy and smelly. They try to eat everything that goes into their cage, would megazorb harm them if they tried to eat it? They don't eat their shavings so I don't think they'll try the megazorb. Would you recommend megazorb? Where do you buy it from? I thought it would be expensive like the carefresh I buy for my rats toilet corner but just found out it isn't and I'd love it if megazorb worked for them because I really want to get them off the shavings as although they're sold as dust free I still find them to be dusty. I know farmway sell megazorb but I won't be able to get to it until next weekend so I think I'll order some from somewhere first, where would you recommend? Thankyou very much for any other info on the use of megazorb :)

hi, i use it for my pigs and i have done for other pigs too, mine have never tried to eat it that i know of, if they have they live to tell the tale!

I get mine from a horse supplies/farm type shop its way cheaper than anywhere else i could find, think last time it was about £6.80 a sack.

hiyah, i think they are a standard size, but i cant remember what it is, but i use it in a 3 x 2 tier of my cage and i would say i get about 10 changes out of it, but its a guess, its very good value for money in my opinion.

If they do eat it you could have a problem as it swells when it gets wet :{

Have you tried shredded newspaper/paper horse bedding? This shouldn't upset them if they do eat it, my horse eats it and it's the only thing that doesn't cause colic.

I've used megazorb for weeks now topped with hay. I have never seen my piggies eating it, only the hay. It's much better than shavings or newspaper though I do find it a bit on the dusty side. The sack is 85litres.

Thankyou everyone :)

Yes, that is my worry, them eating it. They just eat and eat any paper bedding! I think what I'm going to do is do a test, I have some carefresh for my rats so I'll put a bit of that in an area of their cage because it's similar stuff and see if they try and eat that. If they do I don't know what I'll do :( I really want to get them off shavings. If they're ok with it though I'll order some megazorb, can't get out to buy any until next weekend and I put a fleece in with them today and they didn't try and eat it so I'll put a fleece in one area of the cage and megazorb the rest :)

I love Megazorb! Not too expensive (can get a bag at 7.20 from my nearest town), non dusty, mega absorbant and mine have never eaten any

I use megazorb, £6.80 from the local farm shop, lasting a while. I use it over newspaper and under hay especially in the ends and their sleep area where they tend to wee more. i find it very good and haven't noticed them eating it.
