Hello all
Would be so grateful if I could have advice on megazorb bedding please. I have just ordered a big bag for laying on the bottom of hutch for my guineas who are arriving Saturday. It seemed to be a good option after reading about wood shavings and allergy and eye irritants that guineas can get from this. Even watched a youtube video on megazorb and it was recommended as a good substitute. ( Hence going ahead with the order! ) I have now read further reviews saying megazorb is not suitable for small animals and is very dusty and smelly. The Smell I can put up with but I am very concerned that the dust from megazorb will affect guineas in a bad way. I know from reading the forum that many of you do use this and swear by it but after reading bad reviews I'm having second thoughts! It was expensive so would hate to not be able to use it but obviously guineas health comes 1st.
Many thanks for any advice

I have used megazorb and I found it quite dusty towards the bottom of the bag. It’s fine to use for piggies though. I just found mine were a bit sniffly on it so I just use fleece cage liners now. (Inside piggies).

Also if you’ve any horse supplies shops near you you can maybe buy it cheaper directly from them.

If you layer hay on top it will be fine, any dust will be trapped underneath. You'll have a nice absorbent layer and the piggies will love eating and snuggling up in the hay.

Ditto to what Kit says. I used it for years and didn't have any problems using it under a layer of hay @Nana1 .

It can be a bit dusty but I didn't find my pigs had issues.

i use a layer of megazorb and then place another bedding on top,eg hemp, woodshavings, fitch, cardboard.it is very good at absorbing urine.

Ahhh thank you all. You have put my mind at ease. Very excited about picking the boys up on Saturday. I really want to give them a good and healthy guinea life.

Thank you will definitely layer some hay over the top of the megazorb.
