Hiya,

I’ve read some reviews on Amazon says megazorb is smelly? What’s your Thoughts / opinions?
Many thanns
Elaine

I used it for a month or so and it does have quite a strong, unpleasant smell to it although id imagine you'd get used to it. It was heavy and kind of dusty too, it's not something id use again but it was absorbent and good value for money considering the size of the bag I got.

Thank you x

Yes I didn't get on very well with megazorb either. It smells quite strong especially when you first open the bag. I didn't find it very absorbant and was quite dusty as well. I used one bag and didn't use it again.
I now use snowflake softchip and find it very absorbant, easy to clean and doesn't smell at all.

I used to use Megazorb 3 or 4 yrs ago. The first few batch I bought was fine, it was odourless. Then after a few months it started getting this musty smell like it was damp or been stuck somewhere damp. It became very dusty too. So we stopped using it and changed back to wood shavings. We changed to fitch bedding early this year though and it was great! Too bad they are out of stuck at the moment so has been using Kaytee Clean & Cosy since last month. It's almost the same as fitch but I would get back to fitch when they start doing it again.

I used it for a little while but it was very dusty and made my little one sneeze and wheeze. It does smell a little funny. I use fleece on top of clean shredded cardboard now, much easier and it doesn't smell and isn't dusty.

We use it at the rescue where I volunteer. I find it does smell a little bit when first down. But it’s easier to maintain than shavings for such a large number of piggies. Also the smell does go away quickly once it’s down.

I tried Kaytee clean and cozy for the first time yesterday and its brilliant, dust free and odourless and my pet room doesnt smell like a piggy toilet this morning for the first time ever! But it is quite expensive...

I've used Megazorb for about 3 years now. Not noticed an unpleasant smell (we have indoor guineas) and found it very absorbent.
I put a single sheet of newspaper underneath to help with the deep clean, then Megazorb, then a double sheet of newspaper and hay on top. I find if I change the top newspaper and hay daily, the Megazorb can last 1-2 weeks (depending how much time the girls have had in their outdoor run during the day).
Hope this helps.
