When I went into the garage to give the piggies their breakfast this morning I noticed Meg had a bald patch on her back. She had her last mite treatment 6 days ago. Not sure if it's a result of scratching or stress as we lost Christian a few weeks ago. It all looks nice and clean with no scabbing or anything fungal as yet. I have sent these images to the vet via PetsApp.

She didn't have it on Monday last week at her weekly check.

Fingers crossed for Meg, sending you both best wishes. Rosie has a bald spot in the same spot, she had a fur pluck for sampling on Wednesday at the Cat & Rabbit, i am waiting results. Ringworm fills me with dread especially as Abigail had a operation on Wednesday.

Oh no. Fingers crossed nothing else develops!

Everything crossed here for you. Hope it's nothing serious.xx

Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious. All the best to you and Meg 💕

Fingers crossed it's not something bad and easily treatable at least. Good luck at the vets tomorrow Meg. ❤❤

Hopefully she will be seen tomorrow, the vets haven't got back to me yet they are open on Sundays but I expect their busy. I'll chase them up soon.

Just made an appointment at 9.45 tomorrow. Not sure which vet as I forgot to ask. Hopefully its Rachel but it may be Alfonso who is good too.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it’s nothing serious, hope all goes well at the vets tomorrow ❤️

I do hope it’s nothing serious. Maybe it will turn out to be nothing more than a bit of fur pulling by an over enthusiastic cage mate !
Glad you’ve been able to get an early vet appointment
🙏🏼

You saying that, I have noticed that Betsy has started to barber Patsy and Meg ever since I bonded them. She never did it with Dennis or when in the herd of 5 a couple of years ago. It could also be that. I'll mention that to the vet too. The skin isn't red or inflamed at all.

When Jemimah and Priscilla first bonded I noticed a similar looking bald patch on Jemimah.
After a moment of panic I spotted Priscilla with fur in her mouth and realised what had happened.
It’s still a good plan to get the vet check - never make assumptions based on someone else’s experience.

Just found a wodge of Meg's fur in the run so I reckon it is barbering by Betsy but I just want to make sure there is nothing else going on. Meg has just passed her weekly health check with glowing colours and only around 13g weight loss since last week which I won't panic about.

Hope everything goes well and it’s just a bit of hair pulling x

Just got back from the vets. Meg saw Will the vet. Will said that Meg had nice clean skin, no redness, no sign of ringworm (PHEW!) and the mites have all cleared up. She also had a full health check and she passed those with flying colours too. Will reckons its just mild bullying by Betsy where she is telling Meg that she is top piggy as I only bonded them a few weeks ago. Betsy and Meg both wanted to be top piggy and in the end Betsy won the coveted roll and is just reminding Meg that she is the boss. Hopefully it'll settle in a few weeks.
