Quick history of our 3 pigs: bought the last 3 in the shop after being told they were all female. Turns out one is male.

Today is the 1st nice day we've had since bringing them home so the girls are in one run and the boy in another and the runs are right next to each other. Lots of little squeaks from the boy and running round his pen and chewing the wire. The girls are not interested in him in the slightest once they had their initial sniff through the wire. Is this normal behaviour? Do i keep doing this as often as possible?

Thanks

Yes, it is perfectly normal sow behaviour when they are not in season. Please keep them in ideally daily contact, so the girls accept him again if you have him neutered and depending on what happens on the pregnancy front. it is very important for him to get the companionship and social stimulation even of the girls play it cool!

:D This is what I did with my little boy before he got neutered. And he got his head stuck between the bars of the run, trying to get to the girls in the other run! :hb:
I am guessing you have wire mesh on your runs, as you say he chews the wire. (I have metal runs with vertical bars. ) So you should not have this problem.

Yeah he has wire mesh and the girls have more vertical bars but they arent paying any attention to him lol
