I had my two guinea pigs together for just under two weeks but the oldest, Lily, fell ill so they had to be separated then Meg the younger gave birth and we still didn't know what was wrong with Lily so they have be apart longer than together but they got on really well really quickly. I was at the vets today and they are still not sure what it is but the said she could meet with Meg and baby for a little while. So I put them together and there was slight dominance behavior from meg which is a lot more than last time but that seems to have settled down and they seem to be getting on fine but there is still some where Meg is forcing Lily's chin up and Lily kind of lunging at her. They will not be allowed to go in the same cage until we know what wrong so i was wondering what the next step was. When should I put them back in there cage and how often should I put them together?

Hi!
Forcing up the chin (chinning) is typical, fairly mild dominance behaviour and lunging means "stay away from me".
Illustrated Bonding Behaviours And Dynamics

Unfortunately for you, guinea pigs don't do casual socialising. Each meeting is the start of a bonding session. If it is aborted halfway through, it is very frustrating for the guinea pigs involved, especially if they are never allowed to get anywhere.

Please consider either keeping Lily as a next door neighbour with round the clock interaction/stimulation through the bars or going through with the full bonding. That is much fairer on your piggies.
