Rowan! Means "little red one" in gaelic.. The Rowan Tree has warm colours, white leaves and red berries.. And also ties into the sweetie theme of names my sows have- "Rowantree" the makers of fruit pastilles! All perfect for a red eyed, warm coloured little beauty.

She is around 10-16 weeks. I'd say the size of a 16 week old, but the weight of a 10 week old.
I believe fate led me to this little girl- my bereaved sow poppet had a horrendous night on saturday, screaming, pacing, bar biting.. So i went to p@h to get her some goodies in the morning, as well as her favourite "carrot house". I had called 26 p@h stores the day before, to enquire about any guinea pigs under the care of the support adoption for pets rescue charity- there wasnt a single sow in a 100 mile radius. I asked the store colleage again when i was in yesterday, on a whim.. And he brought through Rowan. Abandoned, no longer wanted by a kid and just discarded like an old toy. I had 2 potential rescue sows (at different times) in the pipeline, but neither situation felt right. I believe Poppet led me to this little one.
She now has a companion.. As well as a new carrot house!
