Meet Polar! ❤️

Please welcome Polar! She’s come to TEAS from Neville’s Nest - Guinea Pig Rescue, to make it easier for her to access the treatment she desperately needs for her severe dental issues. When Julia contacted me for advice, I
immediately offered Polar a place at TEAS, as it made sense for Polar to be close to The Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic, and not have to keep travelling from Leicestershire!

Unfortunately, Polar’s teeth are very overgrown, so she will be having a GA dental tomorrow, when Simon will hopefully be able to get her teeth back to the correct length, to allow her to eat for herself! It will be risky as she’s so tiny, but as she’s so bright and wants to eat, she deserves a chance!

I’ll be getting plenty of syringe food into her tonight and tomorrow morning, so she’s as strong as possible for the procedure. Please keep her in your thoughts!

I’ve been up since 5.30am so I can get as much syringe food into Polar, so she can be as strong as possible for the procedure! She’s going to the vets at 9.30, with Noel and Liam accompanying her, as they are going in for castration. It’s going to be a long day!

Polar is home! The dental went well, but she does have a lot of swelling and ulceration from where the overgrown teeth have been rubbing and cutting into the soft tissue! She’s got Loxicom and Gabapentin to help with the discomfort. She’s taking syringe food well and trying to eat for herself. She’s such an amazing piggy! Definitely another Shelly!
