I haven't posted on here for a while, as we were trying to settle down with everything that was going on.

Meet Monk! (Short for his full name, Monk Fruit and a shortened nickname of Chipmunk)

We no longer are the Frothy Five - We now are the Seasonal Special Six.
Brulee (Brew-Lay)
Caribou (Aka Boo)
Nutmeg
Pumpkin (Aka Pumpkin Spice)
Little Bean
and now Monk (aka Monk Fruit)

He is in his own cage next to the female herd so he is not 100% alone - He just joined our family yesterday so he is still getting used to his new home. He came from a home where the owner was trying to breed two guinea pigs and, I quote, "Didn't like the coloring". We were not expecting to rescue a male, but our hearts went out and wanted to give this little guy a wonderful home. I know he will need extra love and attention to help with not being directly near other guinea pigs (as in the same cage; he has access to see/smell/hear the female herd); but I'm okay with that! In a few months (and after surgery), he will join the herd - until then - extra love and snuggles!

Love this lil guy.

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
What a gorgeous boy who has clearly landed on his paws.
Hope all goes well for the neutering when that happens.

Micah lived next door to his prospective wives while waiting to be safe. This meant that I already knew they got on together before the official bonding.

Be warned - the excitement level will go through the roof!

Monk looks like an ideal candidate for the White stripey nose club.

There's a club?! DO TELL!

Also, thanks for the warning! I know my own excitement level is going through the roof, and it's only day one haha!

He's a little cutie, I love his colouring 😍

OMG I KNOW, RIGHT? He's SUPER soft as well, which is crazy. His mom was a long hair and his dad was short hair (similar to this in coloring) - so I'm curious to see how he turns out in a few weeks/months!

Aww Monk you are a cutie and you have a beautiful stripey nose if you search for the thread and post a picture I am sure Pringle will happily welcome you as a new member!

The Stripey Nose Club was founded by forum star Dennis. Sadly he passed away a few weeks ago and has been succeeded by Pringle whose slave is @rp1993
There's a club?! DO TELL!
Yep my Dennis was the Founder Member and the Self Appointed President of Any Else For The Stripey-nose Club? and when he toddled of to The Rainbow Bridge just over 4 weeks ago, I as Dennis's representative, appointed Pringle as his successor. Dennis wanted the Club to carry on as The Place to See and Be Seen and The Coolest Club in Town. Only those piggies with Cool White Nose Stripes need apply. All you need to do is fill out an application form - post a photo showing full white nose stripe for the perusal of Pringle.

Gorgeous Agoutis

He also qualifies for a place in the above thread. Well done for taking him it sounds like he needed you, he is gorgeous. I also have a lovely lemon agouti, someone at the place where he came from said "I'm glad your taking the brown one, no one ever wants the brown ones".

Sadly that seems to be the norm. We had a pair of brown boys in the centre who were there nearly a year. 😭Lovely lovely boys. When they popcorned off to their fab new home we were all in tears as it was such a happy day.

Nothing wrong with a brown piggy. My Rainbow Piggy Lenny was a Lemon Agouti and my Later Rainbow Piggy:yikes::yikes: DA BOSS :yikes::yikes:Velvet reminded me so much of him. Here is Velvet.

As far as I'm concerned Peanut is my gain and everyone who rejected him made a massive mistake. He's a lovely chilled old boy now and a fantastic cage mate to Rusty. Despite being 6 years old his coat is shinny and his eyes are bright, I love dappled agouti hair, his lemon complements my silver! Sorry @Wheeksers we've taken over your thread.

I'm loving his crazy ears! 😍 :))

Thanks for the support! I love this little guy so much!

He's having a hard time adjusting, but that is to be expected. He has a nice set up next to the sow's cage (where the sows have a wonderful little piggy perch to look into his cage - Pumpkin tried to get on top to get into Monk's cage... I caught her on the piggie cams we have set up). He is not eating very much hay, but he is at least eating some of the pellets and the veggies I put in the cage. He's still afraid to roam around the cage - but I'm feeling it is just a time thing. He was just ripped away from his mom and brothers so- that is a bit traumatizing for any baby.

I took him out yesterday to give him some lovin (and, yes, I will submit him to the Stripy Nose Club - Along with two other of my girls haha). How could ANYONE hate his coloring. He looks like a little ninja chipmunk to me. AHH love this guy so much! I hope he warms up a little bit more.
