5guineapig
New Born Pup
Figured I should post a pic of my piggies while I'm here asking health questions.
Laurel (the abyssinian) was the first piggie I adopted after my original two passed 10 years ago at the age of 8. She was originally paired with a rex named Yanny, but he was misgendered when I picked him up, so they offered to rehome him and provide a girl companion for Laurel. This turned out to be Red 40 (the mostly white american), who a little less than two months later, gave birth to my two boys Microplastics (black head american) and Aspartame (brown and white american). Kept them separate until they could be neutered, but Microplastics somehow managed to jump the 1 1/2 foot cage wall and impregnate his mother while I was away for a week. On New Years day at midnight last year, Microwave (majority black american) and her late brother Microaggression were born. Microaggression passed after being unable to recover from neutering a few months ago and I miss him so much, but being able to take him home and have time with his family before he passed gave me some peace.
I did not expect to have 5 guinea pigs when I first decided I was ready to take care of piggies again, but I love my little family and don't know where I'd be without them.
