Hope I've got the right board for this as it's more about behaviour as opposed to health.
I have posted before about our two male gps. They are brothers and are now over a year old. Recently, they had a bit of a fight so we decided to get them neutered. They were both done about two weeks ago but it seems to me that it's actually made them worse. About two days after the op, one of them had a patch of fur missing off of his back and it looked really sore. Then the next day the other had the same. I thought they'd been fighting again so separated them for a while. The lady I got them from then suggested that it might be mites as they've been under stress. I treated both of them for that. However, one of them improved but the other one got worse. I returned them both to the vets and he said that he didn't think it was mites but actually that they were trying to hump each other again and nipping each other's backs. He suggesed separation again. They both look really unhappy together, and yesterday there was a proper fight. No blood drawn. Again, I separated them, one upstairs in the hutch and one down. Today I put them in the run and immediately, one of them started chasing the other one so I removed one of them and put him back into the hutch.
I'm coming to the conclusion that they'll never be back together . Any suggestions? We have a two storey lazybones hutch which I don't think is suitable for one to live up and one to live down. Any ideas? I haven't tried bathing them yet as I was worried about it being so soon after their ops.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
