Both ears are crusty on the outside and inside of the ear, but not down inside if that males sense.

No vet available til Wednesday morning at 8:30 am.

Nearest exotic vet when our vet is not in, is 150 miles one way.

None of the other vets in this town will treat a guinea pig.

That could be ear mites, fungal or other skin problem. It's not an emergency and can wait til your GP vet can see him on weds for diagnosis and treatment. Is he ok in himself?

Hi please don't fret. My boar had that on his ears when I first got him but I left it- thought it was just how he was because it wasn't crusty just like a white patch in the places you describe. After a week of owning him it went so I don't know what it was but it went pretty quick. :)

Yes he is eating and active as usual, and scratching his ear a little.

I agree with Vicky that it is not an emergency and can wait until Wednesday.

Max has mites and got his first dose of meds today and goes back in three weeks for the second.

He has crusties on his feet too.

Lil Bit got her first dose a couple of days ago and goes back in three weeks also.

Molly goes in tomorrow afternoon for her first dose.

Piggies on the mend.

That is great news!

Can you please keep any updates to the same threat you have started about the problem, so we have got all relevant information together in case we need to refer back.

As we are a forum and not one of these hip-shot diagnosis social media places that require lots of short new posts, we have the luxury of in-depth and continued support. This is much more efficient if we can look up and refer back to what has gone on before, so we can avoid repeating advice and tips that have already been given and/or ruled out and keep any specific aspects in mind when advising.
In order to keep track, we use the "watch thread" function that alerts us to any new posts in ongoing threads. You can also set it for yourself and find your thread quickly again by looking in your alerts (flag icon on the top right). Having just one thread on each ongoing issue helps us a lot of keeping up with each case since we are a pretty active forum. Thank you!

PS: I have merged your threads on the same subject for you.
