Hi, ive had my guineas on fleece for a while, and bought them some new matress protectors as needed some spares. I thought they needed to be 100% polyester so this is what i bought, but reading on here they need to be 100% cotton.

is 100% polyester still going to be ok to use ?

thanks sarah x

Hmm... Mine are polyester underneath but 100% cotton TOP. It's fleece that should be 100% polyester I think. Are you using them under fleece? Or are you just using them on their own?

hi they are under the fleece, the fleece is 100% polyester.

they seem to be ok at the moment, but dont want the girls ending up sitting on wet bedding, as only change them every 3-4 days!

its really hard to find mattress protectors that are cotton topped!

Hmm... Well I would GUESS you'll want to wash them several times, and then they will probably wick away like fleece does, but you may then need a towel layer or something underneath to draw the moisture TO. I'm not sure if it will absorb on its own. But I'm sure you'll be able to tell pretty quickly!

thank you

is a polycotton topped matress protector going to be ok? just browsing on the internet!

That should be fine! I got one clearance from Argos and it works brilliantly, so I don't think you need anything expensive as long as it says 100% cotton topped.
