Mater and Lightenings New Home

Here finished enough for my boys to move in, is their new piggie home. Built by my hubby, although its finished a little later than i would have hoped but then yesterday we had a crisis when 2 of the degus gnawed their way out of their cage at the same time I was walking out of the door for the school run. Much cursing and a very quick temporary fix later, they were safe and sound. So Mater and Lightening moved in late last night. You can just see Mater in the chube, lightening is in the little house, hubby made out of offcuts. Just out of sight at the bottom is a hay tray, food bowl and water. Do you think its ok? I know its a bit lacking in furnishings.

Hubby will be doing one for the girls next :)

You don't want to fill it too full anyway - they'll enjoy having the space to run around in. :)
 
Wow! How big is it? As said before, I think they'll love the space. How about some lino offcuts to brighten up the inner walls? It'll be so easy to clean, too :) How have you managed to attach their water bottle?
 
Oooh it's great! Well done to hubby - there's loads of room for them to whizz about! What about some card board boxes to hide in? xx>>>

Its 6ft x 4ft, so lots of room for them, once they get used to it. The water bottle is attached to a wire frame thingy which is then in turn attached to the pen with cable ties as a short term solution.
The floor has lino type tiles on, so its easier to clean, at the moment I have 2 huge towels and a fleece (I ran out of newspaper!) and hubby brought home some cardboard boxes from work today for them but the only other thing I want to get them is one of those fleecy houses for them to snuggle in but that will have to wait a little while. The girls pen will be the more or less the same, with a chube, chair, bed and some fiddlesticks. Have put in an order with hubby for another hidey hole. I cant wait till the girls pen is done too x
 
But they can't see out. There's nothing for them to look at as it has solid sides, seems a bit of a shame.:(
