mark on my guinea pigs skin?

I’m afraid the links to your pictures don’t work. Wait a few minutes then you can upload them straight on here.

May I ask why you were bathing your piggy? And does (s)he have a friend?

I'm sorry but your pictures aren’t loading, for me atleast.

sorry, i’m new to this:no:i got it to work now, the photos are in the comments.

i bathe them if and when needed, its not something i do regularly. i’ve had them for 5 years and only bathed them three times i think. it’s just because i have long haired guinea pigs who start to smell after a while. i just like to make sure their bums are clean and because they have fur that drags behind them, it can get quite smelly.

yes i have 2 piggies, raisin and rolo:)

i was bathing my piggie and noticed a brown/black mark underneath his ear. dad said could be a birthmark but don’t know if they can even have these?

apologies for not the best photos, my phone camera wouldn’t focus but hopefully you get the idea

Looks like a birthmark to me, is that behind their ear?

Unless the bald spot is out of the normal it looks fine to me.

yeah it’s behind his ear so it is normal, he has a bald spot on the other side too. i just overthink when it comes to my pets, anything that seems out of the ordinary and i start to panic.

thank you :)

Hi

If the skin is smooth to the touch the same as behind the other ear and the bald area behind the ears is symmetrical with the other side then it is simply pigmented skin that creates the irregular colour markings on the body. ;)
When you look closely, you may find other areas with differently coloured skin (paws, genitalia, nipples, ears, nose/mouth, eyelids etc.)

Have a good look so you can learn what is normal and what not on your guinea pig.
Guinea pig body quirks - What is normal and what not?

Crusty or flaky skin indicates a fungal or potentially parasitical problem.
