Tiny
Teenage Guinea Pig
Willow's always been the more gregarious pig, I suspect because of the enforced handling around her early medical issues. Marble has been more cautious, but has really come along in terms of trust and feeling comfort around me. She'll now let me stroke her without bolting off, this has taken a fair bit of time and real baby steps of progress.
I do have a question regarding her breed. As she's grown and her fur has developed, I think she's less Aby and more Peru. Her rosettes - if she has any - are few and not 'tight', it's more like a couple of loose whirls! She's also got impressive 'tail feathers'! However, I'm really curious about her head fur shape, which I've tried to show in the photos. It's very different to Willow's, who has what I'd call a more 'traditional' rodent shape. Marble's snout is quite short and because of the way the fur goes looks wider at the bottom, going up to a mini mohican. I think you can see this more in the last three photos. Is this head/fur shape indicative of any particular breed? I'm only asking out of curiosity, as the two are so different! Anyway, over to Marble...
"Okay mum, let's do a photoshoot. You promise that there'll be loads of hay at the end of this?"
"My serious, mature look. Cos I'm three and a half months old now - properly grown up. I don't do silly baby stuff anym-"
"-ooh I like your camera, mum! Can I have a go?"
"Can I see the buttons?"
"Pleeeeese? Big smile!"
"Ha ha, selfie! Look at my paw, it's my favourite posing one as it's my only brown one. Where have my eyes gone? Ha, don't worry, they're still there behind my 'on fleek' fur! Would you believe I wake up like this?! Natural beauty, me! Um, I don't have any boogers, do I?"
