Manly Love Guinea Pigs

Hi I have two "Male" Guinea pigs and one of them keeps chasing the other around sniffing it's butt and trying to mate with it. What do you think is wrong?
 
There is nothing wrong, don't be alarmed. It's not sexual boars sometimes mount each other to establish dominance

I assume that they are both boars ... that is how I got hooked on guinea pigs over 17 years ago. I thought I had two boars, was confused by their behaviour, saw a piggy expert, and no I didn't have two boars but a sow and a boar. And the rest is history, as they say.

If you are sure that they are two boars, then I too agree with piggiesforever.
If you aren't sure, then I am with roninnorfolk. Is there any bum wiggling and strutting going on also?

It is probably a male dominance thing, but could be a sign of attraction.
 
yep, thats all it is , you really dont have to worry! if they start fighting drawing blood and its gettgin quite serious fighting, you shouldnt separate them, but this shouldnt happen.

They will eventually calm down!
 
have you double checked the sex? thats what i thought 2 of my boars were doing then i found out one was a sow :o
