About 2 months ago my Guinea pig (pumpkin) was diagnosed with a mammary tumour. They said that they think it also spread to her lymph nodes and that surgery is possible however they wouldn’t be sure that it would go away.
It has gotten to point where it is giant and about the size of a golf ball and surgery in Canada is over 3000 dollars! (£1850) and that doesn’t include the other things like a biopsy. Just a biopsy alone is 600 dollars (£370) I don’t have the money for that and I know she doesn’t have much time left. What should I do as surgery really isn’t an option?

Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear about Pumpkin. If surgery really isn't an option then I would assess if the tumor is affecting her quality of life and whether or not she is suffering. If it is and she is suffering, eventhough it's a heartbreaking decision, I would choose to put her to sleep. I am so sorry this is happening.

I hope you have many happy times with Pumpkin and make lots of lovely memories. You will know when the time comes, but do discuss palliative care for her with your vet x

Palliative care is the route I chose when Jemimah was diagnosed with a tumour.
We kept her pain free and made memories and ensured every day was a happy day for her until she slipped away peacefully one night.

Holding you in my heart ♥️
