I was just wondering if one gender makes better pets than the other? Is there any difference. Please post any info/opinions.

I've only ever had boys :smitten:
But there's many on here who have both, and just adore them all :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

One thing I have noticed is that female poop is smaller than male poop. Is that the norm or do I have a special pig that has small poops?

There is no difference in my opinion, boys seem more active than girls but it could just be my pigs. While on my knee they always sniff around and are hardly still but my girls aren't like that! My boys popcorn all the time, my girls don't. They run around their hutch though!

As for the poop, no difference in my opinion, looks the same. The girls seem messier than the boys!

I have had piggies all my life and from my personal experience have found that boars tend to be more confident, active and vocal. :)

Males bond better with humans, girls you can keep in groups, and tend to get on together better, so depends what you want :)

There is no difference to me ;D I have lots of boars and lots of sows - Of which ALL are loving and affectionate and sometimes lazy ::)

I have 3 boys and 6 girls and I would definitely say the boys are more confident and friendly. They also have much bigger poops.

I Have always had boys and girls, even though i have no prefence to either, i believe that like alot of people boars are better pets, mainly because they are more out going and nosey!

Only ever had males and I love them. Don't think I'd get a female because all my males love cuddles, talk alot and love being nosey :D

I have two girls and a boy, the girls are loons and never shut up, but we've had them a while so they're more confindent. On saying that Ralfie has been very trusting and settled in a lot quicker than the girls did, he still isn't as active, he tends to stay in the one corner most of the time but he's still settling in. He's not as messy as the girls and lets out random wheeks sometimes and rumbles when we put him down lol strange piggie! I'd say in general both sexes make great pets :) with regards to poop, ralfies are bigger but he doesn't poo as much as the girls x

I love my girls & my boys but i do have less probs with my boys. :smitten: :smitten:
Have to agree with Debbie mine too are more loving & less "moody" than my girls ;D ;D

I vote female, I have never had any problems with my girls. But the guys...well lets just say "boys will be boys!" :)
