Hey guys!
Its a question regarding 2 male pigs my friend owns...she is a vet nurse and took the two stray pigs on from work. Both en-neutered males. They were in the vets for a week and they were absolutely fine there, and since she has brought them home and out them in their cage (it is large cage, plenty big enough) they fight, rumble strut etc. The one is very dominant and chasing the other pig around, not biting him but humping him.
Any suggestions? I thought maybe they didn't actually love together when they were abandoned, and actually they don't know each other? Would.neutering help? Any suggestions would be a huge help.
Thanks guys x

Neutering won't solve the problem as it doesn't change character just stops them reproducing. Its more then likely the fact they have had upheaval and establishing a pecking order. Male guinea pigs are funny things and you will find even the most bonded of pairs if put into a new situation will establish the hierachy once again. The behaviour you have described is normal male behaviour, they hump to show whose boss. If they aren't biting and drawing blood then i would just be inclined to keep an eye on them for now. Do they have two of everything like food bowls, water bottles, beds etc?
