Hey there!

I got my piggies on Monday and I think they are doing well together but I would like some other opinions, just in case I am misinterpreting any body language.

I think this is a good sign, but I am not sure.
This is a quick clip so you can hear the sounds they are making. Hopefully the audio is clear enough. Once I stopped recording, Taco started to groom himself, which is a good sign from what I have read here.

This is a longer clip of them hanging out in their enclosure. Rafi, white face, is definitely my shy guy and Taco is the more outgoing boar. Please let me know if you notice anything negative I may not be seeing.

Thanks everyone!

I don’t hear anything worrying or negative. In the last video I think I hear piggy chat but not entirely sure as not clear. They seem to be doing well. Just bear in mind that cuddling won’t always happen. They may just be hiding out together - safety in numbers if that makes sense.

That definitely makes sense! I am glad to hear everything seems to be going well. From what I have read, I am pretty sure they will have their moments but if they have a good bond they will sort it out on their own. Is that accurate?

Yes. Teenage months (4-14 months old) can be a trying time, but if they’re compatible they should make it through fine. The important thing is to have a submissive one. Just be aware there may be a few occasions where hormone surges could lead to a display of dominance. Having said all that, how old are they?

Hi and welcome

Sadly I can't hear any sounds. Is this their only hut?

Please always provide two of each (huts with 2 exits) because most piggies don't huddle together if they have a choice, not even the most loved up piggies that love to spend time snuggled up together. That is a human misconception.

Generally any chatter is good; the lower and less intense, the more chilled the situation is. Piggies are at their most vocal around 4 months and then gradually calm down.

There are more than two I think.

Hi there and thanks!

They have another hut and I am planning on trying out a cardboard hut for them too because the second one only has one opening. Thank you for the information! 😊

I think that pretty accurately describes the sounds I've been hearing. They also make the sound I think is considered "inquisitive" pretty often. I am working on differentiating the sounds they make, so it's good to know I'm on the right track. 😊

That is good to know because I can be a bit of a worrier. They are a little over three months old. Rafi seems to show signs of being the submissive one, but it may just seem that way because he is the shy-er piggie.
