I have two single boys that live side by side in one room. I have space for another cage and was thinking of adopting two sows. Obviously the boys don't live together anyway so they wouldn't fight over the girls but just wondered that if I housed them in the same room would it upset or stress my boys out at all?

I have had my boars above my sows in a two level c and c cage , there was a grid built up in between so it was three grids high if you know what I mean and there was never any problems ,however it may depend on the guinea pigs.

When we had girls and boys, we put them in the same room (not together, obviously) once and urgh... The boys went nuts and the whole ground floor (it was mostly open plan) smelt horribly for ages. So we never let them near each other again. =P

But that's only my experience, other people seem to manage it without boar musk all over the place. ^_^

You'd have to handle the boars BEFORE the sows, but otherwise I think you'd be OK! If they got stressy you could always try a DAP diffuser to help the boars calm down a bit :3

I have three boys in my room and one girl. I have a bunk bed homemade cage I made with C&C and the bonded boars are at the top ad my neutered boar and his wife are at the bottom.

Never had any trouble with any of the piggies, even with my youngest boar who is going through hormones at the moment. I always do the boys first and then the lady after.

My advice is to always have the females on a lower level than the boys.
