making your own fleece cage liner

hi just need some advice please, i have a cc cage coming soon and wanted to make a couple of spare cage fleece liners, can you tell me what is best to put in between the fleece, i saw on youtube someone use adult pads, but can these be washed time again or will they disintegrate.

Good choices include mattress protectors (the cotton ones, not polyester), old beach towels, zorb (mostly from the US though and quite pricey).
My liners and pads are a mix of all 3,and I find all of them work well, but the ones with a toweling inner do take longer to dry.
