I wan't to give my pigs a nice cage (indoors cuz its cold here) that mimics their natural home. Any ideturfas?
We were thinking of an area of long AstroTurf but we don't know if its safe or if it even comes in long..
HELP!

I don't think astroturf would be a good option for piggies because it's not meant to be digested and would probably cause blockages or tummy troubles. I recommend fleece (though I realise wild piggies don't live on fleece lol) I realise you're trying to replicate their natural habitat but domestic piggies aren't the same as the wild cavy. Fleece is soft, warm, dust free and cheaper in the long term as it's machine washable. However, it can sometimes smell and it's not always right for people. Sawdust is another option- it smells good and soaks up the urine however, it is dusty and can cause sneezing etc. Carefresh is also a good option (I've never used it) it is dust free and soft again but can be quite expensive. Hope this helps

I want it to look right. it can be fuzzy but should look good too. what could i use for tall grass that won't hurt their little tummys?

As in to replicate tall grass? Some people put piles of hay on the floor of the cage for the piggies to burrow into or hide in like they would with grass or you can cut fleece into strips and hang it from the top of the cage for them to hide in and run through.

Well that's a good idea I was thinking of making a fleece jungle for my family of 5. You must have read my mind!

Mine love their fleece jungle.

I put a 32litre underbed storage box in their cage piled high with hay. They make guinea pig sized tunnels in it. They also have a small cat litter box hay tray and lots of fleece bedding and places to hide. They !ove hiding!

Cool thanks i will do the fleece jungle. In GREEN. like GRASS

Would they like a bridge that is like a rock with a little cave underneath

Piggies love to hide and run from hidey to hidey as it's where they feel the safest so yes giving them little spots to hide in would make them very happy.
