making a little bed

Can anyone help? I have some material that i want to make into a little bed thing for my animals. I want to know what to fill it with. It needs to be washable and not lose shap/go funny in the washing machine. Any ideas?

I have used old fleece cut up before - it dries quickly and as a stuffing can't get tangled round toes etc

Thats true.
What about for an 'insert', would it get all runched up in the wasing machine? I plan to sew all the sides so once it's in it'l be a bugger to sort if it goes funny.

I used the stuffing out of an old quilt for mine and they wash great, hope this helps
