So before I was even considering guinea pigs I had bought the storage cubes for just that, storage. ^-^ They worked very well for a while then I got tired of them and I don't use them anymore. Now that I have piggies I want to upgrade them to a fabulous C&C cage! I was so excited because I thought I just had to buy the coroplast until I counted the spaces between the grids. 8x8. I read that you could make the coroplast sides higher in order to make it safe, but how much higher does it have to be for the cage to be acceptable?

Thanks for your help.

^-^

I would say at least 1/2 the height of the grid, ie 4 squares. What sort of weight are your piggies, if they're over a kilo it shouldn't be too much of a problem but smaller piggies could get stuck in the square holes if they had access to them x

Well they're not full grown yet, about 3 months old, and Kevin is steadily getting closer to that kilo mark. Meg on the other hand is a bit smaller. Maybe, I should wait til' they're full grown?Knowing myself I'd probably still take the extra precaution...

If they're only 3 months old they be about 400g to 600g so definitely I agree with lissie about 10 inches tall x
